The Product Development Information Technology (PDIT) team is accountable for the definition and implementation of solutions to support global Engineering processes. These processes include Product Design (CAD), Analysis/Simulation (CAE) and Data Exchange (DX) of Engineering data to and from our customers, as well as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and specific Engineering tools. The PDIT group works closely with the Engineering business community and other IT groups to ensure processes are implemented & supported as designed.

Working as part of the global PDIT team, the IT Team Lead, CAD DX is responsible for packaging, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and providing user support for both standard and customized CAD applications. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing the installation and configuration of OE customer Engineering data exchange tools. This position will be based at the US Corporate Headquarters in Northville, MI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build CAD software installation/update/upgrade packages to be deployed via Microsoft Configuration Manager/Software Center, myPLM, and other methods.
  • Coordinate upgrades of CAD and data exchange applications to remain current and aligned with OE customer requirements.
  • Provide guidance/mentorship on the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of CAD and data exchange applications.
  • Ensure the continuity of engineering data exchange systems with global OE customers including the coordination of mandated updates/upgrades.
  • Manage engineering application license servers globally including configuration, updates, and continuous monitoring.
  • Support the configuration and installation of various CAD/PLM integrations including but not limited to PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, and SAP PLM.
  • Closely work together with the Engineering end-user & leadership community to understand, analyze & document CAD DX business needs & topics
  • Execute projects within committed timelines and budgets in a distributed global environment
  • Lead a small team of people.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering or equivalent is required.

    Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience. Experience in automotive industry is preferred.

    Travel: Requires travel up to 10%.

    Skills & Knowledge
    • Expert in the administration of CAD packages such as CATIA, Creo Parametric, BricsCAD, Siemens NX including installation, configuration, and support of OE customer environments.
    • Proficient managing and monitoring global license pools for Engineering software
    • Knowledge of the configuration and installation of CAD integrations with a major PLM solution such as Windchill, Teamcenter, or SAP PLM desired
    • Familiar with the configuration and support of systems for exchange of technical data (e.g. TRUexchange, OFTP/ENGDAT, OEM Teamcenter clients)
    • Working experience with remote collaboration & support in an international user community
    • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
    • Project management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively on and with a team with members located around the globe.
    • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results.
    • Must possess a disciplined approach and commitment to delivering on Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and project go-live dates
    • Drive for operational excellence
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Windows 10. Experience with Win Server 2019.
