Job Description:
The PHES Designer position is for a highly skilled and
experienced designer for the Propulsion HVAC and Engine Systems
Design Services team. The candidate will use NX CAD or CATIA V5 to
perform packaging, concepts, designs, layouts and checking of
Engine System components including, but not limited to the
following: Plastic (or sheet metal) parts for the air induction
systems, air boxes, ducts, hoses, engine covers, etc.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Creation of
explicit geometry, including use of parametric modeling. Completion
of advanced packaging feasibility studies. Completion of
manufacturability and/or feasibility studies. Packaging assessments
of new components / systems (i.e. Air Induction, Cooling, HVAC,
Fuels, and Exhaust systems, etc.). Working with engineers to
complete manufacturing/service studies. Redesign models and complex
assemblies to improve design quality. Commonization studies.
