Position Type: Full Time, Onsite Schedule: MondayFriday, Full-Time Spring Semester: January 20, 2026 June 12, 2026 Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a collaborative and well-supported learning environment. This role focuses on providing individualized instruction and meaningful academic support to help students succeed while working closely with a strong team of educators and support staff. Key Responsibilities: - Provide special education instruction for middle school students in grades 68 - Manage a small caseload of fewer than 10 students - Support students primarily working on alternative curriculum standards - Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) - Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed - Maintain compliance with special education documentation and reporting requirements Requirements: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education - Active Michigan Special Education teaching license - Experience working with middle school students preferred - Familiarity with alternative curriculum standards - Strong collaboration and classroom management skills Benefits: - Competitive compensation - Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) - Supportive and collaborative school community
