No C2CThe Modeling and Simulation HIL Integration team is seeking candidates as Application Engineers for HIL system integration of vehicle system plant models, sensors, actuators, ECU hardware, and component required for active safety Electric Vehicle propulsion systems. These systems are used as the test environment for performance, feature, safety and diagnostics test evaluation and thereby serve as physical vehicle surrogates. The Application Engineer (AE) will modify, adapt and update the bench set-up to ensure that the testers have an environment which is test-ready. Candidates for the AE role are required to have proficiency in the following: Fundamentals of Internal Combustion & Electric Architected Vehicles Knowledgeable in the basics of internal combustion engine and transmission systems as applied to HIL and real-time simulation systems Knowledgeable in the basics of electric motor controllers, EV battery management, EV charging systems, EV regen chassis/braking controls: understands the basics of EV architecture and power flow Understands vehicle system interaction among all dynamic systems (chassis, brake, steering, propulsion, active safety, etc.) Knowledgeable in Vehicle Electrical Architecture and Subsystem/Features in Active Safety and Chassis Controls domains HIL Integration and Operations Familiarity with the following fundamentals of HIL Modeling, Simulation and Integration: Adapting and integrating Chassis, Active Safety and other system controllers and models with the EV system controller and models on the HIL System Benches Conduct/perform I/O Verification Checking Sensor/Actuator functionality Verifying Serial Data communication w/Cybersecurity Some background in conducting function Feature Verification (ADAS, V2V, Chassis, Propulsion, Power-modes) The basics of troubleshooting and resolving issues on the bench (e.g. DTCs, Loss of Communication (LOS), etc.) Capability to analyze Basic Software and Calibration (familiarity in C/C++ computer languages) Working knowledge of real-time simulation models developed using MATAB/Simulink DSPACE HIL System/Operation and Serial Data and Tools Familiarity with this simulation back-bone and framework for HIL and the associated tools and interface methods (e.g., ControlDesk, ConfigurationDeskO, FPGA, etc.) Skilled/experienced in CAN/CANFD/LIN/SPI/Ethernet serial data form and with Vehicle-Spy (VSPY), CANOE, CANalyzer and other tools Qualification B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or Control Systems Minimum 2-4 years of experience using Hardware-In-the-Loop systems including: Developing real time controls, experience in MATLAB/Simulink modeling Electrical Test and Development, and Vehicle Electrical Architecture Real time controls plant modeling and simulation for vehicle domains and subsystems Experience/familiarity with Chassis Controls modeling and simulation in the application/integration of modeling tools such as CarSim, VeDyna, or ASM is preferredby Jobble
