reimagine the human journey.Meet The TeamThe Camera Engineering
team is responsible for the design and development of the custom
camera hardware that enables Argo's self-driving system to
accurately perceive the world. The Camera Engineering team owns all
aspects of camera technology development, including research,
design, test, qualification, and deployment of Argo's camera
systems. Camera Engineers work with a cross-functional team of Argo
hardware and software engineers as well as outside suppliers to
actualize designs and bring them into production.What You'll Do
- Work with a team to deliver Argo's custom camera hardware
- Research, design, development, test, qualification, and
deployment of Argo's camera systems
- Work in the domains of optical systems, mechanical systems,
electronics, image processing, embedded software, perception
software, thermal, EMI/EMC, and vehicle integration
- Define engineering requirements specifications for camera
systems, including imager, optics, electrical, and mechanical
subsystems
- Design and carry out simulations, experiments, and
characterization studies to validate performance of Argo's camera
systems
- Collaborate with software engineering teams on image processing
techniques, calibration methods, and novel approaches to imaging
for autonomous vehicles
- Work closely with outside suppliers to guide the manufacture,
test, and qualification of Argo's camera systemsWhat You'll Need To
Succeed
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field
- Experience in developing and documenting design requirements,
conducting trade studies, developing prototype designs, executing
design analysis / simulation, integrating prototypes, conducting
verification / validation testing, debugging design failures, and
deploying designs to production
- Ability to define and execute procedures for characterizing and
testing one or more of: image sensors, imaging optics, camera
assemblies
- Experience with image quality evaluation and data analysis
using Python, Matlab, or equivalent software
- Experience with prototype hardware bring-up and debugging
- Understanding of camera image processing pipelines, including
auto exposure (AE) and other ISP functions
- Understanding of camera manufacturing processes, including
active alignment and manufacturing test procedures
- A record of owning projects successfully and working in a fast
paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with other teams and leaders to help
entire organization grow in the same direction
- Strong presentation and communication skillsNice To Haves

- Experience developing cameras for machine vision
applications
- Experience with robotics systems and/or perception
