This position will be located in Plymouth, MI.

Job Description

  • Establish relationships within Bosch and at North American customers to effectively identify and manage quality risks, with the goal to proactively improve Bosch quality.
  • Lead quality contact for OEM, Tier 1 customers regarding quality issues, both technical/design and manufacturing/misuse.
  • Ensure fast response to customer concerns which may include but is not limited to testing of defective parts, customer portal data input, 8D review with producing plants and customers, onsite customer meetings, etc.
  • Initial technical analysis of customer rejects (0-mileage/field), including documentation.
  • Support manufacturing plant with detailed technical analysis of customer rejects when required.
  • Support and train onsite plant residents at OEM to Business Unit requirements and expectations, provide feedback on performance/needs.
  • Create and maintain 0-mile and field quality performance reports for assigned products, and utilize analytical mindset toidentify product performance trends and communicate within the organization.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement projects for defined products and processes.
  • Attend customer and internal program meetings, report status of quality deliverables.
  • Partner with development, project management, and manufacturing plants to ensure a safe launch and ramp up of new products.
  • Develop and implement departmental continuous improvement (CIP) ideas leading to improved business efficiency, quality support and collaboration with other departments
  • Systematic field quality monitoring and warranty cost control for XC-products and systems through active inquiry and analysis of customer specific databases
  • Negotiation of global quality relevant issues (Field and 0KM) with multiple OEM regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC)
  • Responsible for handling and tracking any key quality topics
  • Crisis management and de-escalation negotiations
  • Occasional travel to Bosch manufacturing and customer locations (10-15%)

    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering
    • 2+ years of experience in an automotive product role (design, manufacturing, quality), working within a cross-functional team, supporting customers, both internal and external.
      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Solid knowledge in HW/SW in Automotive Electronic products
      • Experience in Quality Management and Customer interface
      • BSME or BSEE
      • Software experience.
      • Engineering or Design experience.
      • Experience working with a complex product that includes, electronic hardware, software and mechanical components and systems.
      • 2+ years of experience in Quality.
      • Knowledge of automotive electronic manufacturing plant quality processes
      • Launch management experience in an OEM support role.
      • Experience with Bosch Engineering and Business processes
      • Ability to troubleshoot automotive systems and handle difficult customer situations
      • Experience with common problem solving tools (8D, Six Sigma, FMEA, DRBFM, 3x5 Why's, Ishikawa, Shainin (Red X), Six Sigma, et).
      • Capable of effectively communicating to various areas of the organization (e.g. supplier quality, supply chain, product technical support, engineering, plant quality, field service, etc.).
      • Strong communication, negotiation and team moderation skills
      • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and Macros) and good knowledge / experience in Project Management
      • Fluent foreign Language
      • Experience with diverse cultures / countries is a plus
      • Travel- both domestic and international -required (10-15%) with short notice
