Job Description:
Position Summary: The Spring Design Release Engineer (DRE) is
responsible for the design, development, and release of spring
components for automotive suspension systems. This role ensures
that spring designs meet performance, durability, cost, and
regulatory requirements while supporting vehicle programs from
concept through production. Key Responsibilities: Design &
Development Develop coil springs, leaf springs, torsion bars, and
air springs for suspension systems. Perform packaging studies and
ensure compatibility with suspension, wheel, and tire systems.
Apply GD&T principles and tolerance analysis for robust
designs. Analysis & Validation Conduct FEA for stress, fatigue, and
NVH performance. Create and manage DVP&R (Design Verification
Plan & Report) for spring components. Support physical testing and
correlate results with analytical predictions. Program Management
Own design release process in PLM systems (Teamcenter, ENOVIA).
Manage engineering changes and maintain BOM accuracy. Ensure timely
delivery of components to meet program milestones. Supplier &
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with suppliers on design
feasibility, manufacturing processes, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with suspension, vehicle dynamics, and manufacturing
teams. Compliance Ensure designs meet OEM standards, SAE
specifications, and regulatory requirements. Support DFMEA and
