Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience in leading the risk function in a large organization, either in a risk or senior leadership role
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of knowledge around financial services risk as well as industry standards and trends for governance, risk and compliance
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, documentation and time-management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and writings skills, with the ability to convey complex information
  • Experience with implementing a Governance, Risk and Compliance system
  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment
  • Ability to both architect new frameworks and processes as well as manage existing ones

      Job Summary

      The Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for leading the risk management processes for Rocket Companies and its operating subsidiaries, including designing and implementing a risk management framework with capabilities to identify, manage, and report on risk exposure. This individual is a thought leader, partnering with both business and risk management stakeholders across the Rocket Companies to ensure consistency in identifying, escalating and addressing current and emerging risk issues.

      This leadership role also influences risk management technology, including tools for maintaining a risk register, controls catalog, issues management, risk assessments, emerging risks, reporting, data analytics, and policy and procedures. They collaborate with other teams to understand their business objectives and processes to build and implement risk management activities that drive the visibility and awareness required for well-informed strategic and operational risk decisions. The Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management oversees and administers periodic meetings for Rocket Companies and is responsible for providing periodic reporting to the Audit Committee and Rocket Companies executives.

      Responsibilities
      • Design and implement appropriate risk management framework for Rocket Companies and its operating subsidiaries
      • Create/enhance a risk intelligent culture by continuous improvement and monitoring of our risk management framework in collaboration with senior leadership and business partners
      • Integrate risk management activities and reporting of Rocket Companies operating subsidiaries into an integrated view across the entire organization, including establishing open channels of communication and bringing functional leaders across the organization to balance risks and new business opportunities to achieve optimal overall association performance
      • Identify and evaluate risk themes and trends across the Rocket Companies entities
      • Collaborate with other risk/assurance groups to provide oversight to risks and controls to understand interdependencies and shared risks
      • Lead process to define the Rocket Companies risk appetite and ensure alignment with company values and strategy
      • Coordinate the collection of risk information, analyze the data, and update critical risk scenarios and metrics based on the data
      • Develop and manage a centralized risk management policy and procedure database
      • Ensure coordination of entity risk observations with risk factor disclosures in the company's SEC filings, e.g., 10-K and proxy statement
      • Forecast and communicate short and long-term risk to the Rocket Companies Audit Committee around key business objectives and initiatives
      • Lead the RKT Enterprise Risk virtual team and serve as a direct liaison between the team and the operating subsidiaries of Rocket Companies
      • Develop and continuously improve the dashboard reporting around established risk appetites
      • Develop an agile, capable risk management team and ensure the delivery of appropriate training and certifications
      • Ensure the overall integrity of risk management systems and data
      • Maintain external relationships, manage productive vendor relationships, and participate in technology organizations to gain industry knowledge, share information and enhance the association's image
      • Maintain knowledge of existing and new industry trends and innovations to determine the potential value to the organization and its impact on our position
