Job Description:

NTK Cutting Tools is now hiring for a Director of Cutting Tools to lead our Marketing/Engineering/Sales/Operations staff throughout the US. This role will be based out of our corporate offices in Wixom, MI and report to our Senior VP of Commercial Business Operations. NTK Cutting Tools is a division of NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A). Both NGK and NTK global headquarters are based in Nagoya, Japan.

About NTK
In 1958 NTK started selling ceramic tools. Ceramic cutting tools answered the demands with efficient high-speed machining conditions. In 1992 NTK began selling Swiss automatic CNC lathe tooling due to the expansion of personal computers and automated equipment that required precision parts. The carbide inserts brought a reduction in edge grinding process time, longer tool life and more consistent workplace dimensions. In 2015 BIDEMICS sales launched for machining heat resistant alloy parts to meet the increasing demand for aircrafts.

Job Responsibilities:
Oversee all Cutting Tools operations, staff and strategies with a focus on responsibly maintaining and growing sales for the Division.
Formulate and recommend strategies for sales support functions and operations through potential process, channel or structural changes
Provide and maintain regular communication with NGK Japan and NGK affiliates' management teams on activities.
Works cross functionally within the team and organizationally to achieve business objectives of the Cutting Tools Division.
Supports Senior Vice President of Commercial Business Operation with the execution of special projects or assignments as needed or as called upon by the SEM Team
Sales activity of major customers; building relationships along with sales representatives, researching market trends and reports to Global Headquarters.
Implements strategy to grow market share and business footprint of NTK Cutting Tools in the US and globally.
Monitor and approves purchase orders, shipping and inventory control and identify and prevent problems before they occur.
Constructs budget to achieve divisional objectives with a focus on profitability.
Oversees development of sales bonus structure and associated triggers to achieve
Effectively lead the engineering, marketing, logistics and sales functions of the division and coach designated staff.
Oversee streamlining ordering, procurement, inventory control and shipping procedures.
Communicate and negotiate with Global Headquarters for product pricing and inventory levels.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures and IATF16949, J-SOX and ISO14000 related policies.

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, operations, inventory or related field
Minimum of 7 years experience in a management role
General knowledge of cutting tool fields and disciplines
Proven ability to manage, mentor, motivate and delegate tasks to others
Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical issues and develop solutions
Highly detail oriented and strong analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet strict deadlines
Ability to develop operational strategy, inclusive of sales, operations and divisional direction
Experience working in a Global business environment preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Possess the ability to comprehend products, materials and Q.A. functions
Strong, negotiation and sales skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Possess a valid state driver's license, proof of insurance and an acceptable driving record
