The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?VMware is transforming how we deliver capabilities to our partners and customers by changing how our internal operations work. - As part of VMware's strategy to grow our software-as-a-service (SaaS) business, we are driving toward the scalable, sustainable business operations needed to deliver an excellent customer experience. - - - - -The Digital Transformation team is leading this effort at an Operational and Program level, as well as at a Strategic level. - We are looking for a passionate contributor, eager to contribute to and learn more about the value of Operations in driving change at a growing software company.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? The primary objective of this role is to play a key part in evaluating and tracking how well the Digital Transformation team is contributing to the SaaS growth of VMware, and communicating this success throughout the broader company.Within 30 days you will be familiar with the different initiatives the team is undertaking, and how each is contributing to accelerating SaaS growth and creating a better experience for our customers and colleagues.Within 90 days you will be supporting teams to identify metrics to track success and calculating the ROI of our various initiatives. You will also be supporting the creation of strategic insights that are being presented to senior leadership teams. As part of this, you will be working cross-functionally with our program managers, product managers, engineering, and finance teams.Within 180 days you will be owning the creation of strategic insights that demonstrate the value of the Digital Transformation team.Within 360 days you will be analyzing the progress of the teams over the last year, and making recommendations on how to shape the strategic direction of the team to ensure we are driving transformational change.The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Conduct a range of qualitative and quantitative strategic analysis. For example:You will calculate the correlation between operational improvements made to a sales process and topline growthYou will identify the business outcomes created from the various operational improvements developed by our product and engineering teamsSupport the development of frameworks that drive strategic decision making. For example:You will help create a framework to enable our executive leadership team to make investment decisions across our Operations portfolioSynthesize the value of the complex day to day activity of our engineering and product management teams into clear and concise executive level communication in PowerPointWork closely with Operations, Sales, Product, and Finance teams to support the development of metrics that motivate teams and generate insights to improve business performanceConduct competitive market research and analysis. For example:You will help our team understand the key performance indicators of other companies that have successfully pivoted from a license to SaaS business modelWhat is the leadership like for this role?
