Position Summary:
We are in search of a Content Marketing Manager to join our world-class marketing team. Nearly all the pieces are in place to take our organization's marketing to the next level. We have a strong brand, a solid MarTech stack and a proven approach to demand-gen. Now we need you: a smart, organized and resourceful storyteller with a passion for crafting the right messages to engage buyers.
The Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for writing, creating, managing and publishing new and existing content that is aligned to each stage in both the buyer and customer journeys. The content will range from short messages for ebooks and blog posts to longer-form content such as case studies and white papers.
About you: you let your curiosity dictate your creative process, by conducting research and talking with subject matter experts. You're comfortable conducting an interview and make it easy for your subject to open up and lead you to the story. You balance that curiosity with your need to be well-organized and deadline driven. And you lean on your interpersonal skills as you build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You're going places in your career and the prospect of embracing emerging content marketing methods and technologies excite you. From writing killer subject lines to incorporating keywords into the content you write - you love soaking it all in and are meticulous about putting that knowledge to work. In fact, you've probably been proofing this JD just as much as you've been reading it and are already thinking of ways it could have been written better.
Primary Responsibilities:


  • Own the content creation process, from content brief to content launch.
  • Work closely with the Director of Content Strategy to manage the content calendar.
  • Own and manage the content catalogue and be responsible for making content accessible to internal stakeholders, such as sales teams.
  • Work closely with internal SMEs - particularly our technical SMEs - to craft solution-specific stories, communicating complex and technical ideas in ways that are meaningful to buyers.
  • Work closely with external stakeholders, such as clients; digging in to find the ROI-focused and pain point resolution nuggets you'll need to tell compelling client stories.
  • Support marketing teammates with content needs, from writing original email copy to editing/reviewing customer communications.
  • Serve as the grammar, usage and punctuation 'clearing house' of the organization by reviewing, proofing and editing copy in communications, press releases, etc. on a periodic basis.
  • Participate in the pre-production process by reviewing creative and making creative recommendations for each piece that will bring the copy to life.
  • Immerse yourself in our buyer's mindset by reading industry journals, researching competitors and asking questions beyond those that will satisfy the task at hand.

    Requirements:

    • Mastery of the English language and proven ability to write engaging marketing content.
    • 4-year degree in Journalism or Marketing
    • 2-4 years of experience in content creation and/or content marketing
    • B2B writing experience required, technology writing experience a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, high degree of proficiency in MS Office products: Word, PPT, etc.
    • Outstanding writing skills and ability to write and create original content from scratch.
    • Strong background in persuasive storytelling and ability to communicate technical concepts.
    • Experience writing for various media, including blogs, video scripts, articles, white papers, etc.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, to take projects from start to finish.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Writing for various B2B buyer audiences, from c-suite to end user; from operations and finance influencers to technology buyers.
      • Experience writing on high-tech topics, including connectivity, cloud, digital transformation, etc.
      • Passion for technology with a clear understanding of the role technology plays in a business.
      • Experience in measuring content performance preferred, including an understanding of the levers that can be adjusted to optimize content performance.
      • Strong business acumen: have an eye for how the topics you cover affect the bottom line (both our bottom line and your audiences'!).
