POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Business Director is responsible for leading the
business affairs team, SME for financial and legal aspects for
video, radio, integrated production and intelligent content
initiatives. An upstream strategic thinker that offers solutions
before the bid process even begins. You are the main point of
contact for producers, account management and agency leadership for
all business affairs matters. A positive, can-do attitude and a
curiosity to always learning more is as important as the day-to-day
responsibilities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with producers and client procurement team to
offer solutions, negotiate costs, create estimates and payment
terms
- Team leader overseeing the business affairs team across offices
in North America
- Capable of ideating production/post strategies for efficiencies
and quality
- Interface and coordinate with creative, client engagement,
accounting, legal and outside production partners
- Have knowledge of legal guidelines for commercial production,
licensing language, trademark, rights of privacy, copyright and
production insurance
- Lead scoping/evaluation of new business to determine level of
business affairs staffing and involvement
- Evaluate, evolve and educate agency concerning business affairs
processes
- Experience in intelligent content initiatives (Addressable TV,
CTV, DCO), is a PLUS
- Evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure suppliers comply with
the terms and conditions of the contract in accordance with Agency
and client policies
- Write/issue/maintain appropriate bid award documents, i.e,
PO's, production contracts, insurance, copyright material,
etc---
- Create multi-channel estimates for productions/post
- Work with legal teams to outline, develop and process
Contracts, MSA's and SOW's
- Partner with Creative, Account and Producer to review concepts,
production/post companies, event companies, manage triple-bid
process and award projects
- Externally, work with Ford Production/Purchasing team to ensure
that we are following mandated procurement guidelines
- Evaluate suppliers based on efficiencies, creative quality, and
delivery KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of video, multi-channel executions. - -Print
knowledge is a plus.
- Experience managing contracts and procurements
- Extreme Reach experience and it's capabilities/services
- Must be well organized with strong communication skills (both
verbal and writing).
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under tight
deadlines. Able to multi-task with a variety of projects and
tasks.
- Knowledge of union talent rates and guidelines
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams
- Comprehensive knowledge and administration of the SAG/AFTRA/AFM
Commercials Contracts and extensive knowledge of AICP and AICE bid
forms
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for commercial production,
licensing language, trademark, rights of privacy, copyright,
production insurance
- Exceptional initiative, pitch-in, multi-tasking, attention to
detail and follow through skills a must.
- Exhibits a calm and patient demeanor when facing stressful
situations and urgent deadlines
- Has a desire to continuously learn and evolve and grow the
business affairs team for the current advertising landscape MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory
- Proficient with Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Minimum of 10+ years experience preferably in a fast-paced
advertising/media agency
- Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed
