Job Description:
Children's Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in
pediatric and adolescent medicine. Surgical services include
general, thoracic, reconstructive and cardiovascular. Imaging
technology designed specifically for children provides advanced
diagnostic services including Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
and MRI. The Children's Hospital of Michigan Emergency Department
is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and dedicated
pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care,
rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care
for thousands of children every year at Children's Hospital of
Michigan, Children's Hospital of Michigan - Troy and six ambulatory
sites.JOB DESCRIPTIONIn partnership with Hospital and Physician
Leadership, develops, directs and administers all administrative,
financial, and personnel operations of the CHM Transplant Programs.
Oversees the variety of operational processes including strategic
and business planning, new program development, budgeting, managed
care contracting and physician relations, marketing, and community
outreach, job design and staff supervision, revenue management and
cost reporting. Ensures regulatory compliance including completion
of reports and documents for accreditation. Develops mechanisms to
ensure continuous quality improvement processes are organized,
implemented and monitored for the transplant programs. Develops
case rates for the transplant process. Prepares transplant
proposals for third party payor managed care requests for
information for contracting purposes. Participates in outreach
activities to increase the community's awareness of the need for
transplantation and organ donation. Provides leadership by
maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of
internal and external contacts. Updates professional knowledge and
skills and remains current on national trends and issues. Supports
the standards set forth in the DMC's Code of Conduct by creating an
atmosphere of commitment to legal and ethical standards, and as
directed, implementing external and internal audit recommendations.
Monitors activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws,
regulations CMS and JC requirements, OPTN Bylaws, UNOS requirements
and DMC policies and procedures. Identifies the need for policy
development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with
higher-level management, input, goals and objectives. Oversees or
directs the development and/or revision of department procedures/
protocols. Approves procedures/protocols and/or seeks other
departmental approvals as appropriate. Develops, monitors and
revises functional processes. Provides input into the development
and revision of organizational structure for function or service.
Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc.
Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develops
short and long range goals and measures and oversees the assessment
of goal attainment. Develops, seeks approval of, monitors and
ensures compliance with budget for areas of responsibility.
Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws,
government regulations, CMS and JC requirements and DMC policies.
As directed, implements external and internal audit
recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives
for diversity of their suppliers.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree in Health Care or Business
Administration or the equivalent work experience in the field of
transplant is required.2. Five years of operational and fiscal
management experience. Experience in transplant administration
