Engineering Assistant - Regulations and Government
Relations*
FEV offers interested students the opportunity to work in highly
motivated engineering teams. Each engineering intern is part of a
team and receives project tasks and responsibilities from within
the group, which is mentored and supervised by an experienced
project engineer. The tasks include but are not limited to;
Responsibilities include supporting the maintenance and awareness
of all US and international laws and regulations affecting engine
and vehicle certification testing, as well as data collection,
processing, and analysis. In addition, you will be responsible for
writing reports and preparing technical presentations.
Responsibilities :
Basic IC engine and Diesel engine fundamentals : Combustion,
Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer
A good understanding of aftertreatment technologies
Expected to have knowledge in the field of engine combustion,
performance and emissions
Knowledge in legislation for emissions and fuel economy
Strong in fundamental engineering to understand complex interacting
systems
Basic understanding of HD OBD regulations
Skilled in handling MS-Word, Excel, Outlook, VISIO and
PowerPoint
Basic understanding in MS Excel macro programing
Professional communication skills to interact with
inter-disciplinary team members within the organization
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to read, interpret and summarize regulatory language used
in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
Ability to support second shift testing if required
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Qualifications :
Candidates pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in
Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field preferred.
