Orthopedic Surgeon - Adult Reconstruction Responsible for examining patients to obtain information, verify condition, and ascertain surgical risks; perform operations on patients to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent/treat diseases and to improve or restore patients' functions; independently manage surgically complex primary and revision arthroplasty cases; analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to verify the necessity of surgical treatment and to determine best procedures; prescribe preoperative and postoperative therapies and treatments, including sedatives, diets, and antibiotics; support the preparation and treatment of the patient's symptomatic joints; support resident education-related activities; support the academic mission of the department, including publishing in peer reviewed journals; physician must have completed residency leading to American Board of Orthopedic Surgery eligible; must have completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction; and must possess valid State of Michigan medical license. Location: 2799 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit, Michigan 48202; Salary: $600,000 per year Education: Doctor of Medicine or related (will accept equivalent foreign degree). Experience: None; Other Requirements: Must have completed residency leading to American Board of Orthopedic Surgery eligible; must have completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction; and must possess valid State of Michigan medical license.
