Job Description:

Responsible for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating the Best Choice Staffing Office (BCSO); work on marketing tactics and build collaborative relationships with leadership members throughout Henry Ford Health System; assure maintenance of Henry Ford Health System's professional, clinical, and educational excellence in quality patient care; review, maintain, and evaluate all annual mandatory nursing compliance requirements, as well as requirements in association with Clinical Educators; interview, evaluate, and hire nurses; evaluate the performance of RNs and provide feedback, mentoring, counseling, and guidance; address issues and investigate opportunities for improvement; identify gaps in clinical performance and develop learning plans to address the gaps; assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating educational problems for all clinical disciplines; hire and manage staffing and scheduling of all Best Choice resources, as well as the department staff; oversee the deployment of all RN staff to HFHS operating units, using various scheduling and communication applications; manage the development, implementation, orientation, evaluation and monitoring of work agreements, and the continued evaluation of daily operations; responsible for budgetary oversight of the BCSO; demonstrate performance-driven leadership skills, and ability to manage change; prioritize and negotiate driving outcomes and process improvements; promote collaboration between the BCSO other departments to ensure every effort is made for proper allocation of resources; responsible for understanding and applying Hospital System, Human Resources, and Site Nursing policies as they relate to payroll and staffing issues; define needs, recommendations and business justification for new technology or workflow processes; consult and advise on the approval and use of agency personnel; utilize Labor Variance Analysis, strategic staffing planning processes, lean facilitation techniques, clinical resource deployment activities, clinical education/competency requirements, caregiver performance management/documentation procedures, high-cost resource minimization techniques and clinical adult medical/surgical/critical care nursing requirements to perform duties; work collaboratively with HR, Nursing, and other disciplines on new processes and projects; collaborate with sites and units to ensure appropriate, effective usage and understanding of system resources; report to Management on Best Choice implementation activities and results; and develop and analyze staffing statistics monitoring trends and norms, as well as review findings with appropriate management. Location--: 1 Ford Place, Detroit, Michigan 48202 Salary: $140,000 per year Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree - Healthcare Administration, Nursing Management, Nursing Administration, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree). Training: None Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as an Administrative Healthcare Manager, as a Clinical Manager of Telemetry and Internal Medicine, as a Program Manager of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Arrhythmia Device Clinic, PCI Clinic, Short Stay Unit and Float Pool, or in a related occupation. Will accept five (5) years work experience in the position above, as an Administrative Healthcare Manager, as a Clinical Manager of Telemetry and Internal Medicine, as a Program Manager of Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Arrhythmia Device Clinic, PCI Clinic, Short Stay Unit and Float Pool, or in a related occupation, in lieu of the primary education and work experience requirements.
