Job Description:
The Henry Ford Health Orthopedic Service line and Division of
Sports Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained, board
eligible/certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon to join our
comprehensive and dynamic team. This is an opportunity to join an
academic practice and the position is based in southeast Michigan
with openings to practice out of the state-of-the-art William Clay
Ford Sr. Center for Athletic Medicine and the Detroit Pistons
Performance Center, as well as the recently constructed Royal Oak
Medical Center , Plymouth Medical Center and Bloomfield Township
Medical Center . Our established group has a strong amateur and
professional community outreach presence directly serving high
school, collegiate, professional sports teams, as well as mass
event coverage in the City of Detroit and the surrounding metro
areas. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery utilizes an academic
employed physician model, with sports medicine primary care and
surgical physicians in all sub-specialties supported by mid-level
providers, specialty-trained nurses, physical therapists, and
athletic trainers. Our research division houses the internationally
recognized Herrick-Davis Motion Analysis and Biomechanics Lab. We
are seeking an academically active individual who is expected to
teach, perform research, provide excellent patient care, and have
some team coverage opportunities. It is anticipated this position
will have two and half clinic days and two days of OR time per
week. On-call is about 1 in 7 and one weekend in a three-month
span. Clinic hours may include the occasional weekend clinic. Henry
