Job Description Description A Brief Overview /n The Clinical
Dietitian will display effective nutrition care, apply critical
thinking skills and provide effective communication and education
skills in daily practice. /n Reporting to the Dahms Clinical
Research Unit Director of Research Bionutrition, this position
supports the bionutrition division of the Dahms Clinical Research
Center (DCRU), a core within University Hospitals Clinical Research
Unit. The DCRU has been a unit in UH for over 60 years. /n /n -
Duties include research protocol review of nutrition needs
requested, preparation and implementation of nutrition related
services, data analysis, quality control of data, and data
collection /n /n /n /n - Data collection includes (but not limited
to): dietary assessment, 24-hour dietary recall, menu development,
diet preparation, food procurement, meal distribution, body
composition assessment (including dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry
equipment -DXA), lifestyle intervention, dietary counseling. /n /n
/n /n - In addition, this position requires critical thinking,
excellent communication skills, efficient at time management, able
to manage multiple research protocols at different stages of the
research timeline, and an aptitude for problem solving. /n -
General X-Ray Machine Operators (GXMO) license within the first 90
days in order to operate DXA (DCRU will arrange). /n - ServSafe
certification within the first 90 days (DCRU will arrange) /n /n

/n /n Additional Responsibilities /n /n - Performs other duties as
assigned. /n - Complies with all policies and standards. /n - For
specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation
provided by the department during orientation. /n - Must abide by
all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health
Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of
Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address
appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. /n Qualifications
Education - Master's Degree in Food & Nutrition (Required) or -
Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition if established eligibility
for the registration examination for dietitians on or before
December 31, 2023 (Required) Work Experience - 3 years Working as a
clinical dietitian in a health care facility (may include
Supervised Practice Program) (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, &
Abilities - Completion of an ACEND accredited Supervised Practice
Program. (Required proficiency) - Competent skills to provide
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) & apply the nutrition care process
to patient care. (Required proficiency) - Competent skills to
evaluate and recommend nutrition needs based on the specific
combined objective/subjective information for a clinical nutrition
assessment. (Required proficiency) - Analytical skills to assess
patient’s condition & provide appropriate interventions. (Required
proficiency) - Exhibits appropriate & effective
communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work with
patients, families, physicians and other health care professionals.
(Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications - Licensed
Dietitian (LD) in the State of Ohio (Required Upon Hire) -
Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Commission on Dietetic
Registration (Required Upon Hire) - Maintains the required
continuing education credits for Registration and License.
