Job Description:
Description Respiratory Therapist The Respiratory Therapist
provides respiratory services under the direction of a physician
and the direct supervision of the Respiratory Department Manager.
The position requires patience, compassion, and a desire to care
for seniors in a gentle and empathetic matter. Responsibilities:
Provides respiratory assessments and plans a respiratory care
regimen based on assessment findings Provides routine clinical care
including ventilator checks, tracheostomy care, deep tracheal,
naso-tracheal, and oral suctioning; respiratory medication delivery
resident evaluations and assessments; and respiratory equipment
management and supply changes. Manages and operates ventilator
manipulations Accurately documents and reports resident status,
symptoms, and responses to respiratory modalities Provides
respiratory care modalities and educates the resident and family
members regarding the purpose and rationale of the respiratory

Qualifications Qualifications: Successful completion of a two-year
accredited respiratory program and possession of a current State of
Michigan license required Must be registered (RRT) or certified
(CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Current
cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification required Demonstrates a
strong working knowledge of life support systems Aware of
acceptable practices within the scope of practice for respiratory
care and the expectations of governmental regulatory agencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
required to stand and walk. Stooping, bending, lifting, carrying,
and other physical demands may be required. The employee is
occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The
