(HPI), a private non-profit corporation, is one of the largest freestanding behavioral healthcare agencies in the area. HPI, accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the State of Michigan, provides a broad array of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention services to individuals of all ages. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS The Assistant Clinical Services Supervisor shall have, at a minimum, a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, social work, guidance, or counseling. He/she shall obtain and maintain current, appropriate full licensure/certification issued by the State of Michigan and shall have passed the Fundamentals of Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention (FAODP) or equivalent. Assistant Clinical Services Supervisors of primary substance abuse programs shall maintain a CAADC. He/she shall have at least four years of experience in the behavioral health field, of which at least two years was spent providing direct treatment services. He/she shall have at least one year of supervisory experience in a similar setting. He/she shall have demonstrated knowledge of personnel and risk-management, quality improvement initiatives, and evidenced-based practices. LOCATION: Canton, MI SHIFT: Full-time; Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm--may include some evenings and weekends SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES The Assistant Clinical Service Supervisor will oversee the Day Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), and Outpatient treatment components at Oakdale Recovery Center. He/she will possess the leadership qualities necessary to supervise clinical staff performance. The Assistant Clinical Services Supervisor will manage staff in a supportive manner using defined standards, strong oral and written communication skills, and structured orientation and training techniques. He/she will ensure that all clinical requirements and productivity expectations are met by all clinical staff by facilitating regular and consistent individual and group supervision meetings. EMPLOYEES ARE RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Compliance with all workplace policies and procedures.Identification and timely reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace.Reporting all Recipient Rights complaints and knowledge of potential complaints to Supervisor within 24 hours of said knowledge.Maintaining confidentiality per federal guidelines (including 42 C.F.R.) and the policy and procedures of Hegira Programs, Inc.Immediately reporting to management any questions and/or concerns regarding ethics or corporate business practices. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Technical: Personnel Interview, hire, and evaluate clinicians, case managers, and interns for all Outpatient levels of care...Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained or introduced to meet program needs.Approve staff work and vacation schedules.Complete probationary and annual performance evaluations/contract compli--ance reviews in a timely manner.Communicate staff performance problems as appropriate to Program Manager, HPI Administration and/or Human Resources Director.Utilize HPI progressive disciplinary policy and procedure to address sub--standard employee performance.Recommend job description updates for positions supervised, as needed. Clinical Supervision Routinely review staff clinical performance.Conduct weekly case conferencing to meet clinical and payor requirements.Indicate review in Day Treatment, IOP, and Outpatient clinical records by signatures on record review documents.Ensure staff practice is maintained within the limits of licensee and established areas of competency.Organize daily Intensive Outpatient clinical schedule to ensure adequate coverage to facilitate servicesFacilitate IOP groups as well as individual services as needed with Outpatient levels of care clientsComplete structured Orientation with newly hired Day Treatment, IOP, and Outpatient clinical staff.Complete monthly individual clinical and targeted supervision meetings with Day Treatment, IOP and Outpatient clinical staffMonitor Case Management and Outpatient SUD productivity to ensure requirements are being met. Program Planning Participate in annual corporate program-specific budget and service goals and objectives determination meeting.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of treatment protocols appropriate to services supervised.Make recommendations to the Program Manager and/or Administrator of SUD Services regarding program changes and/or improvements.Identify like services trends in the community and make recommenda--tions to Administration.Distribute staff activity assignments to meet annual plan goals.Monitor staff activity in relation to established annual goals and objectives.Assign service delivery to staff based on skill assessment. Administration Communicate change in policy and procedure to staff as directed by Program Manager.Maintain documents of services, logs, etc., per payor and agency guidelines.Participate in internal and external auditing of clinical records.Facilitate the completion of corrective actions required based on survey /audit findings as directed by Program Manager.Provide direction to staff regarding training needs.Ensure timely and accurate communication of recipient complaints to Administration. Interpersonal: Under the direction of the Program Manager develop, maintain and improve relationships with third party payors to facilitate referrals and resolve problems, which may be either specific to a therapist, patient or generalized within the clinic, as they arise. Facilitate staff and customer satisfaction.Encourage a cooperative working environment within and between staff disciplines.Demonstrate consistent and professional written and verbal skills. Critical Thinking: Apply HPI policy and procedure consistently among Day Treatment, IOP, and Outpatient clinical staffEnsure staff is skilled and educated to identify and manage clinical risk.Process Variance Reports per policy and procedure.Notify Program Manager and/or Administrator of SUD Services in the event of an incident with potential negative impact on the organization.Seek assistance from Program Manager and/or Administrator of SUD Services when authority, scope, and/or resources are outside the limit of position.Enforce compliance with 42 CFR and HIPAA guidelines.Manage abrupt changes in staff schedules with the least impact on services.
