POSITION SUMMARY:
VIA Motors is looking for a highly experienced Paint Area Manager to join our Manufacturing Team. This is your opportunity to join our growing team and be involved at the forefront of electric and hybrid-electric vehicle technology development. Unique opportunity to start on new Paint shop with a new product and build your operational team. RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

• Lead the Paint shop planning, installation and commissioning activities for VIA new Paint shop
• Lead paint operations and continuous improvement activities at the production site. Maintain high standards of performance and facilitate corrective action and preventive action plans in the Paint shop.
• Establish and continually improve a procedures-based culture within Paint operations
• Ensure the Paint team and systems meet safety and ergonomic requirements, while leading continuous improvement activities in safety and ergonomics
• Develops TIS and review these safety documents with the crew routinely. This involves evaluating the safety hazards on the job and determining and enforcing the precautions, procedures and PPE needed.
• Evaluates and counsels' employees on quality and safety.
• Provides direction on equipment, small tools, materials and supplies to support the crew.
• Act as a customer/client liaison.
• Prepare required reports as directed by the plant manager, director and/or customer.
• Make recommendations on equipment purchases, personnel needs, equipment maintenance, etc.
• Conduct Paint Shop inspections and Safety Tours.REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 15 year of industry related automotive experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Paint shop Area Manager experience
  • Must have knowledge of Paint shop equipment, as well as all personal protective equipment, safety supplies, policies and procedures
  • Familiar with air/wastewater permitting process
  • Must have computer literacy skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to relocate to the plant site once equipment installation begins
  • Ability to travel as required WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD:
    • Electric (EV) and Hybrid-Electric vehicle (HEV, PHEV) systems development and start up experience
    • Paint Shop Area Manager experience more than 10 years
    • Paint Shop Start up experience
