Position Summary: The engineering lead/supervisor software
integration is responsible for leading and supervising a team of
Integration Engineers. In addition, this role has project
responsibility as the software coordinator (SWC) for E-Powertrain.
acting as the central technical point of contact for implementing
functional software changes and planning of such changes according
to internal and external requirements within R&D projects
assigned.
This role will work as part of the growing Electrification group at
ZF on exciting projects related to automotive e-powertrain
applications.
Position Responsibilities: --- Supervise, develop, and evolve a
team of Integration Engineers, namely Software Coordinators (SWC)
and Data Integrators (DI), to provide delivery of automotive
electrification software products.--- Responsible within the team
for project oversight, process improvement identification and
implementation, risk mitigation, competency build up, capacity and
budget planning, and hiring.--- Building a strong Integration Team
which will guide cross-functional teams through the software
development process (V-model) in North America.--- Focus on
developing leadership skills through specific trainings and
workshops, as well as mastering challenging day to day
situations.--- Managing tasks for the Development Project Team for
a software (SW) project and is thus entitled to instruct
cross-functional team members.--- Being responsible for the
development scope of an e-powertrain SW project within the Project
Core Team.--- Representing the development scope of a SW project
vis----vis to the ZF expert departments and the ZF System Team, as
well as to the customer.--- Main point of contact for the customer,
which includes conducting regular customer development status
meetings and technical reviews, as well as synchronizing the
customer/supplier product evolution process (PEP).--- Overseeing
software content, creating schedules and adhere to deadline of
milestones of the assigned development projects while concurring
with global Program Management directions.--- Reviewing
requirements to ensure compliance with engineering principals, ZF
company standards, customerspecifications, and the regulatory
framework.--- Being the liaison for software between the R&D
basic development team (worldwide), the core technology team
(worldwide) and the direct customer team (North America).---
Collecting and presenting effort estimations of planned software
changes from internal cross-functional teams.--- Determining
feasibility of requested software changes regarding local and
global government regulations, ZF internal processes and
availability at coding and integration departments.---
Participating in customer milestone planning meetings and hosting
internal time planning meetings.--- Acting as the main ZF contact
for release timing planning conflicts with customers. The SWC has
full responsibility to delivery software releases on milestone
dates provided by the customer.
Essential Skills and Experience:--- B.S. in Engineering
(Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc.)--- 8-10+ years' experience
in the Automotive and/or Electronics industries, including project
experience--- Familiar with Software development processes (e.g.
V-Model)--- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and
all levels of management--- Self-starter with strong problem
solving and analytical skills--- Excellent project planning and
organizational abilities--- Able to work independently and manage
multiple responsibilities--- Superior interpersonal and
communication skills to mediate among different projects on
critical decisions--- Strong drive for teamwork with a
customer-oriented mindset. Working on powertrain software a
