Meet The Team

The Onboard Platforms team deals with the primary processors and the internal network on Argo's autonomous vehicle platform. Our work is wide ranged - we cover bootloaders, Linux kernels/OS, network design and implementation, interfacing with the OEM vehicle platform, and security for multiple systems within Argo. As a software engineer on the Onboard Platforms team, you will be responsible for customizing the base software layers in the Argo Self-Driving System - writing drivers & connecting to custom hardware, managing networking stacks, and architecting the product-intent OS configuration - all to help scale the Argo solution.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with hardware engineers, software engineers and our operations team to build a world class autonomous vehicle
• Develop plans, procedures, and other documentation required for integrating software modules into our self-driving ecosystem
• Support autonomy software development by development of drivers for Argo and third-party hardware
• Create the software deployment infrastructure for onboard Linux OS-based platforms
• Build out the monitoring software needed for safe operation of the self-driving system
  What You'll Need To Succeed
  
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • At least 4 years experience developing or testing embedded systems in robotics, transportation, aerospace, datacom/telecom, or similar industries
  • Strong software engineering skills with a background in C or C++
  • Experience with a range of compute architectures (SoC, MCU, CPU, GPU, FPGA)
  • Solid knowledge and applied skills with operating systems, including OS internals and associated tools and libraries for developing, debugging, and testing complex software systems
    Nice To Haves
    
    • Strong Python or shell scripting skills
    • Modern C++ (14 or later) experience
    • Working knowledge of RTOS or real-time Linux kernels
    • Experience with developing customized Linux distributions using Yocto, buildroot, or similar frameworks
    • Experience with safety-critical software
