As Head of Mobile Robotics, you will be responsible for the overall direction and performance of the US AMR business within Robotics and Global AMR business plan. You will be, responsible for the profit and loss. Aligned with the Global AMR Strategy and Robotics and its Business Lines, and will have to develop an own regional business strategy.

Your responsibilities

  • As part of AMR Management team, actively contributes to AMR business growth strategy & execution
  • Responsible for building a scalable local USA AMR organization that's capable of achieving a significant business size in a 5-year timeframe. This should be accomplished through leveraging and transfer of competence from Global AMR Center of Excellence and hiring local personnel
  • In close interaction with and the support of the Global AMR Management Team and Local Business Lines, translates Global AMR strategy into a Regional Business Strategy, enriching the Global business strategy with feedback and knowhow about the market in the US region
  • Manage the budget preparation for approval. Coordinate economic planning to ensure budgetary compliance and efficiency in the use of resources required for the achievement of the objectives foreseen
  • Coordinate full US AMR value chain (hierarchical or functional related): Sales & Proposals, Engineering, Project Management, Services (Installation, Commissioning and Aftersales) and in coordination with all business support functions (Supply Chain, Controlling, Legal, Tax, Human Resource, Information Technology, Communication and Marketing)
  • Lead an efficient daily operation and performance of AMR Business undertakings, with specific focus on commercial and operational (both projects and services) management of the business, keeping the risk and liabilities in line with acceptable risk and ABB guidelines
  • Maintain, develop, and expand AMR business US business clientele with customers and partners
  • Is responsible for advising and supporting business development, based on regional specific needs and competitive landscape, for the development of new products and applications, adaptation of existing products or applications to regional requirements, and commercial strategies
  • Represent the AMR business with visibility and positioning of ABB AMR online and offline in coordination with Marketing and Communication Plan, leveraging all internal events, platforms and channels
  • Up to 30% domestic travel, international may be required Your background
    • University Degree plus training in Administration and Management with minimum 7 or more years of related experience in similar management positions in B2B industrial companies in US market and/or as a manager in an integrator company in international business environment
    • Experience in cross functional coordination, working across geographies and different business levels
    • Action oriented and results driven personality
    • Possess strong leadership and team working skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
    • Native English or professional proficiency, excellent spoken and written editorial skills
    • Intercultural sensitivity and experienced in cross functional, international collaboration and in building strong personal networks
