You've dealt with inventory sync nightmares and order flow edge cases. Now imagine doing all of that with AI writing 100% of the code while you direct and review. This Is an E-Commerce Role Schneiders Saddlery is a 75-year-old equestrian e-commerce company. Profitable. Mid-8-figure revenue. Modern stack after recent migration. We need a Head of Technology who understands e-commerce at a deep level AND has embraced AI-native development. Why E-Commerce Experience Is Non-Negotiable You understand why: Order status webhooks need idempotency Inventory sync between ERP and Shopify is harder than it looks Product variants with multiple options get messy fast Customer service automation needs human escalation paths Seasonal traffic spikes require infrastructure planning Multi-channel selling creates data consistency challenges We're not going to teach you e-commerce. We need someone who's lived it. You direct, review, and ship. This means you need: Active Claude Code or Cursor user Systematic AI development workflow (not copy-paste from ChatGPT) Experience building complete features with AI assistance Ability to review AI-generated code critically Process for requirements ? design ? implementation ? review If you're still writing most code manually and using AI for autocomplete, this isn't the right fit. Requirements Must-Have: 5 years software engineering Shopify (or Magento/BigCommerce) platform experience Python AND JavaScript/TypeScript ERP or inventory system integration experience Active AI coding tool user with systematic approach US-based Nice-to-Have: Fulfil.io or similar ERP experience BigQuery or data warehouse experience Previous role as sole/lead engineer Compensation Contract (Months 1-3): $75/hr Full-Time (Month 4): $150K base up to 100% performance bonus Equity: Real path for exceptional performance The Opportunity Beyond Salary We're building AI automation tools that work.
