Job Description:
As a Senior Litigation Representative at Michigan Farm Bureau
(MFB), you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to
defend the rights and economic interests of our members. In this
position, you will be instrumental in managing and resolving
litigation cases, ensuring the organization's compliance with legal
standards, and safeguarding our commitment to Michigans farming
community. Join our dedicated team to help uphold the values and
legal rights of our diverse member base in the dynamic and
challenging landscape of the insurance industry. Manage a caseload
of litigation files from inception through trial or settlement.
Draft legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs while
advocating in the best interest of MFB members. Negotiate
settlements judiciously with opposing counsel and third parties.
Collaborate with external attorneys, witnesses, and experts to
build robust cases and legal strategies. Maintain comprehensive
knowledge of state and federal insurance laws affecting the
agriculture sector. Provide training and guidance to junior
litigation staff and other departments on compliance and risk
management issues. Participate in the development and updating of
policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance across the
organization. Strong proficiency in litigation management software
and Microsoft Office. Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal
communication skills. Adept at legal research and analysis with
acute attention to detail. Ability to work effectively both
individually and as part of a team. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Licensed to practice law in the
state of Michigan. Certification in Legal Compliance (CLC)
preferred.
