Compensation: $160,000 - $190,000 DOE bonus potential Responsibilities: Attend court hearings on behalf of clients and argue motions Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and applicable laws Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts Represent clients in all stages of criminal proceedings, including arraignments, pre-trial hearings, negotiations, motions, and trial Develop comprehensive defense strategies tailored to each client’s unique case Draft and review legal documents such as motions to suppress, briefs, plea agreements, discovery requests, and trial memoranda Conduct legal research to support case preparation and courtroom strategy Argue motions and conduct direct and cross-examinations during trial Oversee case files to ensure accurate, timely documentation and compliance with procedures Mentor and support associate attorneys and paralegals working on criminal defense matters Maintain thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal criminal law and procedural rules Qualifications: Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills are desired, as are exceptional writing and verbal communication skills Admitted to local and state bar associations 5 years of required experience as a senior associate in the legal field Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active member in good standing with the relevant state bar Minimum 5 years of experience in criminal defense litigation, including jury trial experience Proven ability to manage a heavy criminal caseload with minimal supervision Strong courtroom presence and persuasive advocacy skills Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and interpersonal communication abilities Commitment to ethical representation and protecting clients’ constitutional rights Bilingual a plus (especially Spanish) About Company Our dedication to our team and clients centers around our Core Values: Integrity, Dedication, Empathy, Accountability (to yourself and the Team): Loyalty, and Honesty.
