Job Description

The Role

The Vehicle Intelligence Platform Architect will be responsible to execute control functions partitioning and interfaces designs to fulfill the electrical systems and / or subsystems performance/function requirements. The scope of responsibilities requires to get interaction / involvement with all domains within a vehicle electrical controls environment such as: Propulsion (Internal Combustion Engines as well Electrical Machines), High Voltage Batteries Systems, Active Safety, Autonomous Driving, Body Electronics, Infotainment, Telematics and Chassis Controls.

The execution of the job requires close interaction with stakeholders from all the areas within electrical community such as Features Owners, Sub-System Lead engineers, Electronics Control Units experts, Cyber Security Leads, Functional Safety Leads, Electrical Architect Leads, Domain Architects, tools experts, process experts , Software platform architects and Network designers.

The final delivery from the Functional Architect consists in system design readiness documents that translates the requirements into system components, that are then deployed to the ECUs in the best way to achieve the electrical system functionality as well the imperative targets (timing latency and Serial Data Bus bandwidth among others). The System Design deliverables also includes the details behind each interface across the different system components to support the network definition that ultimately will result in the AUTOSAR XMLs documents per ECU.

The job requires Electrical Systems knowledge but will mainly focus on details, close management of timing and key milestones deliverables. The role also offers the opportunities to learn entire engineering development chain and contribute/be part of the future technologies being foreseen into the next generation of automobiles.


  • Lead the System Design Readiness Modeling activities within the Domain

  • Analysis of the Functional Subsystems and Diagnostic requirements

  • Define Serial Data Impact of the signals transmitted and received on different networks including CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc.

  • Responsible for High Level partitioning of the infra structure standard utility models that ultimately comprehend the internal ECU SW application for security and safety interfaces.

  • Document the system design trough UML Tool (IBM Rational Rhapsody)

  • Define network signals and deploy the structured Components in the applicable electronics modules' models

  • Participate in weekly Requirements Architecture Development (RAD) meetings and Global Sub System Leadership Team (GSSLT) meetings to follow up and keep track of status over Change Requests (CR's) and get stakeholders approvals

  • Support and or lead work groups of stakeholders according to the configuration management rules (RTC CRs)

  • Execute reviews of the modeling to guarantee fidelity of the system design submitted and agreed by the stakeholders

Additional Job Description


  • Bachelor's Degree in Software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering

  • 2+ years' experience in Electrical Automotive Controls

  • System Design Mind Set. Comfortable to travel across domain boundaries

  • Able to deal with ambiguities and frame engineering decisions

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of Software modeling concepts

  • Ability to coordinate a small team and complete tasks per a release schedule
