About the Position

The GM Defense IT Leader will be a critical thinker, adept at guiding ongoing solutioning efforts requiring cross-functional integration, to a positive conclusion. . This environment has been architected to meet government cybersecurity standards and is more restrictive than the GM commercial environment. These restrictions are by design, but require technical teams to ideate ways to enable their solutions within the confines of required cybersecurity controls. Many of these solutions require integration across a number of cross-functionally hosted IT teams.

The GM Defense IT Leader is responsible and accountable for the quality and cohesion of solution architecture components within an assigned domain and their conformance to approved GM IT, Government Compliance standards and alignment with the future state enterprise and domain architectural goals. This role will look across the assigned domain to ensure consistent alignment of technical solutions with the business goals and objectives of the supported unit. In this position, you will provide industry leading technical direction and mentorship to various project teams to ensure appropriate and cost-effective application of GM approved technologies. Additionally, you will ensure appropriate and effective data integration across multiple applications.

The GMD IT Leader will:

  • Ensure system solutions are designed for strong assurance and reflect adherence to the NIST 800-171 or Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), Level 3 controls. Develops high-level process models and system requirements that support system strategy decisions

  • Maintain a strong oversight of all end-to-end processes ensuring compliance to CMMC and IT controls requirements. Is a thought-leader in how to design for controls

  • Maintain a strong customer focus and communication skills to draw out pain points and inefficiencies

  • Identify, catalog and manage touchpoints across diverse systems to drive robust interface design

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Able to secure US government clearance, as needed

  • Experience working in a similar role for a government contracting entity

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field

  • 7 years of software development or solutions architect experience in a business setting

  • 4 years of experience in developing architecture for project teams and project implementation

  • 4 years of experience in a specific architecture and technology space such as Java, .net, etc.

  • Proficiency with Sparx EA modeling tool or other Architecture tools to design context diagrams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools such as Office, Teams etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in architecting to meet security standards
