Job Description:
A client is looking for a Software Field Application and
Instrumentation Engineer in Farmington, MI area to support all
phases of the SDLC. This Engineer will divide the responsibility as
a Field Application Engineer and an Instrumentation Software
Engineer. Primarily, this Engineer will be responsible for
providing software integration and troubleshooting activities in
the field at customer sites who are integrating the clients
sub-systems into the vehicle, majorly focused in electric steering
(EPS ECUs), powertrain (PCM), transmission (TCM) or engine control
modules. Additional responsibilities will be to design embedded
software to support the design team for test software, embedded
programming kernels, and instrumentation measurement/calibration
device drivers. As an Instrumentation Software Engineer, this
Engineer will support deployment and maintenance of an engineering
environment and measurement/calibration/debug interface to the
control module. They will procure & install software tools, build a
software test bench to demonstrate the functionality of development
tools at customer reviews, and maintenance the tool chain / bench
configuration in response to requirement change requests.
- Experience w/ power steering systems
- Working with Renesas E2x and Infineon Aurix microcontrollers
specifically
- Masters Degree
- 7+ yrs in embedded C software engineering
- Experience / expertise in the use of ANSI-C compiler, assembler,
linker, loader, lister, and related software development tool chain
components
- Experience with version control tools: PVCS, CVS, SVN, CM
Synergy, Rational ClearCase
- Measurement / Calibration tools use: ETAS INCA or ATI Vision
- Low level driver familiarity: ADC, PWM, GPIO, timer modules, SPI,
SCI, LIN, CAN-FD, SENT, DMA, flash memory, memory management,
external bus
- Debug tools process knowledge: Lauterbach, P&E Micro
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering
