Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Leader to join our Safety and Abuse Development team! This individual will have the responsibility to train new engineers, coordinate RLM activities across regions and organizations, determine appropriate test plans, and develop processes to provide quality data, efficiently, to RESS hardware teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Lead for the Battery Safety Review Board
  • Utilize engineering tools and processes to lead, track,and support migration of datacollection / development from Road to Lab to Math (RLM)
  • Create and maintain a development plan template for Battery Safety development work, to meet GPDP timingmilestones
  • Coach, train,and lead engineersto improveexecution of program deliverables withexcellence
  • Perform engineering design evaluations to assess and improve Safety and Abuse Testing Operating Procedure (OP)effectiveness
  • Recommend changes in the development plan for Safety and Abuse
  • Provide guidance and input on Safety Related development testing required for hardware or controls softwarechanges

Additional Job Description

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Engineering degree
  • Minimum3years' experience in RESS Safety and Abuse development or design
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design
  • Familiarity with Battery lab facilities and processes
  • Familiarity with engineering operations, processes, and best practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of Battery hardware
  • Must be willing and able to create and present information to leadership, colleagues, and customers in a clear and concisemanner
  • Ability to work independently and withothers
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training material and train & mentorengineers
  • General interest and ability in integration and systemunderstanding
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual ordifficult
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively withothers
  • Basic understanding of Specification and Release terms and systems
  • Willing and able to travel in the US and internationally on limitedbasis

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Battery Safety and Abuse Testing and Hardware
  • Experience withModeling and simulation
  • Master of Science in Engineering
