As a Senior Product Engineer, you will be responsible for leading product development and integration activities. Responsibilities include utilizing engineering tools and processes to successfully develop components and systems for vehicle programs.
Effectively achieve program milestones by thorough and rigorous program management. You will coach and lead suppliers to timely execution of program deliverables with perfection.

Role

  • At this level you are expected to operate with a high level of independent discernment and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management.
  • As a fully-qualified individual contributor who has thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the function, you will provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
  • Resolve highly sophisticated technical issues and conducts advanced research.
  • Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Skilled and proficient with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Rely mostly on extensive personal experience and discernment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • In-vehicle connectivity is among the fastest growing technologies in the global auto industry used to support development of cutting-edge solutions related to autonomous vehicles, car sharing, infotainment, and vehicle communications. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic candidates to become part of a fast-moving team who want to lead the future direction of the automotive industry.
  • As the Autonomous connectivity DRE, you'll work closely with the Cruise telematics team and with the GM telematics team members to create a new, high-quality, telematics modules for the Cruise Origin program. You will own the release function of the eCall telematics component. In this role, you will act as a single point of contact to the vehicle programs to understand requirements, rollout plans, vehicle milestone, and therefore create the team's timetables and schedules for development.
  • The role will require you to dedicate yourself to becoming the AV connectivity domain lead and the "go-to" person for AV connectivity requirements, development status, usage matrix and release.
Key Responsibilities
  • Owns the master program timing (vehicle/component)
  • Ensure vehicle milestones are met on time
  • Reviews Change Requests (CR's) and provides consolidated feedback
  • Leads / Signs PPAP
  • Owns team's regulatory checklist responsibilities
  • Main point of contact for the vehicle programs, supplier and manufacturing team
  • Leads Product Release activities
  • Approve Engineering Work Orders
  • Develops / Manages rollout plans and Vehicle Usage Matrix's
  • Develop and manage electrical Interface documents (ICDe)
  • Lead development sourcing activities
  • Supports issue resolution and resolve vehicle-level telematics issues.
  • Support validation activities as well as run tests on benches and vehicles to duplicate issues and generate test logs.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years of product development, electrical or software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering)
  • Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications (i.e. CAN, GMLAN, LIN, or ETHERNET).
  • Knowledge of verification and validation process (component, bench, and vehicle-level testing).
  • Working knowledge of embedded software development, testing and associated tools
  • Understanding of hardware design and failure modes.
  • Results-driven individual with initiative and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with global business partners to meet mutual goals.
  • Demonstrates creativity and the ability to use independent judgment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 8+ years' experience working with current automotive infotainment systems in areas such as Telematics, Navigation, GPS, Bluetooth, USB, Speech Recognition, Microphones, Hands-free Processing and Audio Management, Displays and HMI, Camera and Video Management, AM/FM/XM Receivers/Tuners, Internet Apps, incl. Internet Radio, Cyber Security, Media Players, Text to Speech, System and Power Management..
  • Master's degree in engineering in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalency.
