Job Description A global leader in fluid system products and services with over 70 years of experience in the Chem/Petro Chem, Oil and Gas, and Transportation industries, is seeking a customer account representative to help support sales operations in the area. Today, its cutting-edge products and services support semiconductor and alternative fuels as two of its largest markets globally. We are seeking an energetic, flexible team player ready to help industrial customers throughout Michigan solve their fluid system needs. An ideal candidate will leverage technology, innovative thinking, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to support customers, fellow associates, and the company to achieve strategic goals. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities --- Support our customer base by providing quotations and processing orders in our SAP B1 system --- Interact with technical staff to help customers solve complex problems effectively --- Support the daily transactional work in customer service, accounting, and supply chain (all quote to cash processes) as needed --- Actively engage with continuous improvement education & training and professional/personal development in alignment with company programs and use technology to find ways to streamline and improve work processes Position Requirements Education and Experience: --- Associates Degree is required, bachelor---s degree is preferred --- Professional work experience is preferred --- Work and/or school experience with database management using MS Excel or Access, SAP, online vendor portals is desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: --- Proficiency using internet and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required --- Aptitude for learning new software MRP/ERP system (enterprise resource planning) such as SAP, and accounting software is required --- Understanding of commercial customer ordering processes is desirable, including purchase orders and understanding terms and conditions --- Basic knowledge of quality systems/process standards is desirable --- Solid working knowledge of standard business practices and protocols is desirable Competencies: --- Communication: Listening, oral presentation, written communication, public speaking skills, social acuity --- Interpersonal: Approachability, relationship builder, drive to accomplish established goals --- Leadership: Integrity, flexibility, character, self-awareness, self-regulation, organizational awareness --- Teamwork/Collaboration: To be supportive of all company initiatives, act collaboratively with other company associates, customer service orientation --- Thinking: Decisive, cognitive ability, innovative, problem-solving, solutions-oriented, effective learning style, mechanical and mathematical aptitude --- Work Habits: Results oriented, attention to detail, planning and organization, strong work ethic, resilience, ability to function autonomously, work with a sense of urgency Working Environment Farmington Hills Location: Primarily business casual office, with intermittent exposure to warehouse and shop floor environment. Work Schedule: Standard company business hours are 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. The expectation of salaried exempt associates is to work the hours necessary to achieve the desired outcomes for the position. The department manager approves the work schedule for hourly associates, especially if any additional work hours are needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, work at a desk, and on the computer continuously. Regular use of phone and standard office equipment. Occasional hands-on work with products. Rare travel within business territory, to factory in Cleveland, OH.
