day-to-day operations.OverviewAs a Systems Integration Engineer for
Diagnostic Equipment, you will lead the electrical and software
integration of diagnostic test equipment for Canoo's manufacturing
facilities. You will be responsible for specification generation
all the way to final install and commissioning, acting as the
liaison between engineering, software, and manufacturing domains in
order to successfully design and test each piece of equipment. The
crux of this role will be to balance equipment development in
parallel with the evolution of Canoo's diagnostic capabilities. You
will need to be able to execute multiple deliverables within a
short and potentially variable timeline. The desire and ability to
take full ownership of each piece of equipment within your domain
is a must.Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning of Diagnostic Test Equipment at our
manufacturing facilities
- Support the design of Diagnostic Test Equipment by the
equipment manufacturer
- Generate and maintain specifications for Diagnostic Test
Equipment
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure delivery of
diagnostic functionality
- Support sourcing process for equipment manufacturers Required
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience with automotive electronic systems,
candidate must understand function of all electric vehicle
systems
- Strong working knowledge of Automotive CAN networks, candidate
must understand CAN at the physical, electrical, and software
level
- Working knowledge of Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS),
candidate must understand UDS message format and be familiar with
common UDS services
- Hands-on experience with vehicle wire harnesses, candidate must
have the ability to diagnose complex electrical harnesses and
electronic devices
- Self-reliance, candidate must be able to identify deliverables,
prioritize workload, and communicate issues independent from their
management structure Preferred
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or
equivalent
- Working knowledge of automotive data collection & analysis
tools (e.g. Vector CANalyzer)
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing setting
- Experience with vehicle dyno / roller bench testing
- Experience managing automotive vendors or contract
manufacturers
- Ability to effectively communicate engineering concepts in
writing
- Working knowledge of LIN and Automotive ethernet communication
protocols
- Understanding of binary and other related number systems (e.g.
hexadecimal, ASCII, etc)
- Basic understanding of automotive software architecture and
implementation Travel Requirements
