Job Description:
CNC Programmer/OperatorNidec CHS, a subsidiary of Nidec Press &
Automation, is a leading manufacturer of machine tools for the
metal forming industry, specializing in automated coil handling
equipment. Nidec CHS has an immediate opening for a CNC
Programmer/Operator to fill a full-time dayshift position machining
small to medium size 2D details. The ideal candidate will be able
to program from blueprints as well as importing CAD data utilizing
GibbsCam Software. Familiarity with Fadal & HAAS CNC equipment is
preferred, but not required. Job Responsibilities
Create CNC Programs using GibbsCam
software.Basic understanding of solid modeling.Create, modify, and
maintain general job documentation. (setup sheets, tool lists,
etc.)Participate in Root Cause & Corrective Action process.Review
PCN'S and update CNC programs as required.Revise and edit programs
as necessary to eliminate errors or omissions.Determine appropriate
feeds and speeds values for various types of cutting tools and
conditions.Work with other personnel to develop part fixturing,
process drawings, process routers, tooling requirements, and cycle
time estimates.Maintains safe and clean work environment;
maintaining compliance with established policies and
procedures.Verify and maintain NC files as well as maintain
revision control on programs and setup sheets.Work with others
outside the department throughout the organization as needed to
resolve any limitations on machining of parts and offer improvement
suggestions to reduce cost, improve thru-put, and/or improve
product quality.Manage time appropriately and respond quickly to
all inquiries so that production, quality and delivery schedules
are met.A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a
willingness to help outside of their job description when
needed.Qualifications
A minimum of five (5) years of
experience in a similar role required.Must have basic knowledge of
drafting, design, and CNC programming of lathes & mills and machine
shop experience using CNC machine tools (metal removal).Employee
must provide their own tools.Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills.Must have advanced understanding in blue print
reading/ geometric tolerance interpretation.Must have knowledge of
tool holders, cutting tools, cutter geometry, boring bars,
fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines.
As well as understanding of machine speeds and feeds.Must
demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic
mathematical concepts.Must be able to prioritize and manage
multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a
timely manner.Ability to work to specifications with extremely high
attention to detail.Must have the ability to troubleshoot and
problem solve.Must have reliable transportation; employee must be
self-motivated and report to work daily on time.Must maintain a
positive attitude and demonstrate a willingness to work as part of
a team.Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing
demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or
