Job Description:

This position is responsible to bring stories to life through video content, which means a strategic mindset is key - being able to take sometimes ambiguous concepts or ideas and create easy to understand video content for a wide range of audiences. This position may be based in Northville, MI and reports directly to the Global Director, Digital Communications & Content Management of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of film equipment and studio work
  • Advanced editing capabilities
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders and top executives in the company
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to bring a story to life through film and cinematography.
  • Thinks outside of the box and willingness to test and try new approaches to video story telling
  • Self-starter, pro-active thinker, requiring minimal direction and can create under often ambiguous initiatives.
  • Knowledge of digital media channels (social media, web) a plus as you will be working with digital media professionals to create content for these channels
  • Knowledge of livestream production and platforms a plus
  • Automotive experience and knowledge a plus
  • Transformation, change management and internal communication experience a plus

    Minimum Requirements

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or training/certification in video and photography a plus

      Experience:
      • 5-7 years relevant experience (personal or professional)

        Travel:

        • Ability to travel -20%, including international

          Skills:

          • Proven experience as a videographer, video editor, photographer
          • Proficient in video editing software (Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects for other similar video editing software)
          • Familiar with video studio equipment / in-house studio management. Will be required to set-up and run the studio, as well as train others on use of the equipment
          • Strong understanding of composition, visual storytelling, and design principles and apply them to a content strategy
          • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
          • Attention to detail and keen eye for aesthetics
          • Comfortable working with company executives
          • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
          • Strong multi-tasking and project management capabilities
          • Ability to translate ambiguous and sometimes vague concepts
