At Whisker, life together just keeps getting better.Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 500+ passionate team members.What Youll Do:The Systems Test Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on defining and owning the execution of the test and validation strategies on upcoming smart connected Pet products.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.Tests, verifies and validates an ecosystem of consumer IoT pet products with electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and an array of sensor technologies.Engages with technology program leads and various SMEs in evolving the overall system architecture and platform through the implementation of robust test strategies.Collaborates with Electrical, Firmware and Mechanical engineering teams in the development of test plans for prototype builds and maintains ownership of engineering test fixtures.Collaborates with Manufacturing and CM partners on the development of production test fixtures.Defines acceptance criteria and maintains test outcome traceability between product specifications and test plan.Builds and maintains a robust and scalable test data logging and reporting platform with integrated automation features.Documents and communicates project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.Ensures compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.Will perform additional responsibilities when required.Requirements:What Youll Bring:BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related technical field or equivalent experience3+ years of product development experience in testing, verification and validation methodologiesExperience with resolving systems integration pain points across electrical, firmware, and mechanical systemsAbility to review and understand design documents such as electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, behavioral state machines and other layout/packaging filesExperience in using Python, Labview and/or other frameworks for hardware test automationFamiliarity with ECAD and MCAD tools such as Altium, Creo and/or SolidworksKnowledgeable in the operation of electrical and mechanical testing equipmentExposure to PLM tools and release/change management processesComfortable with working in a cross-functional matrix style organizationA high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate othersAbility to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleaguesMaintains confidentiality of proprietary informationComfortable with office pets (dogs, cats)Nice to Have!Experience with using platforms such Raspberry PI, Arduino, etc. for proof of concept testingFamiliarity in C/C++ programming for Microcontrollers3D printing and machine shop know-howPrevious or current pet parentBenefits & Purrks:Join a tenacious, inventive company that empowers team members to chart their own path, lead by grounding decisions in the why, and has a strong sense of empathy and openness to new perspectives.
