Employment type: Contract to Direct The VEV (Vehicle Evaluation & Verification) Team is seeking an Electrical Systems Test Engineer to join their team. Searching for an engaging and eager engineer willing to deliver results, drive to improve current processes, and develop new best practices. An individual that is self-motivated and will operate with exceptional integrity to deliver on-time testing first time through. Seeking to manage or support team actions including DV planning, sample availability, lab scheduling, FDJ/TPV-MULE breadboard activities, pre-test paperwork, and post-test assessments. Operate with exceptional integrity to deliver Global Product Development System (GPDS) gateway/milestones on time to established acceptance criteria. Position Duties: Determine program content that impacts electrical DV by using documented program detail as well as communication with D&R and program management. Identify new technology, test time required and Complexity Drivers. Generate ---Cookbook--- runs to identify DCV counts Establish robust but efficient electrical DV plans and set up electronic Design Verification System (eFDVS) and FEDE, according to those DV plans Assess sign-off requirements for electrical DV on time and with appropriate data in eFDVS Create pre-test documentation --- currently using Enhanced Laboratory Management System (ELMS) and Sprite Replacement on Unauthorized Technology (SPROUT) Resolve and/or elevate all issues that jeopardize PEC/FEC sign-off testing Understand and suggest revisions to procedures and requirements to assess comply/non-comply for areas of responsibility Support both certification and development testing for type approval and homologation, develop test documentation, and support witness testing Assist Core Engineering and Test Operations to correlate requirements to customer needs, improve test method accuracy and efficiency, and support analytical tool development Schedule, perform, and reduce all re-DV issues related to testing for electrical Develop, maintain and update simulator hardware and software model test systems for automotive validation testing Perform compatibility reviews on the UP-Production Intent Schematics using the TPV-MULE Design Transmittals Obtain Schematics from TPV-MULE Surrogate program Validate BOM for TPV-MULE Engineering Breadboards as released, add in surrogates, bridging parts, and needed components, and add NMPDC Yellowboard surrogate parts Test the TPV-MULE Engineering Breadboards to make sure the design intentions are fulfilled, and develop any needed bridging electronics or part reworks Issue PCN's for all part reworks, alterations, or substitutions as needed Attend all Start-up, walk-around, build assessment, issues meetings, AIMS review meetings, Hard Rocks and PCN review meetings related to TPV-MULE Build as a representative for Electrical and take recommended actions accordingly. Triage issues to the appropriate responsible party Yellowboard --- Configure, Flash, Troubleshoot, Resolve/Elevate Whiteboard issues Trim & Chassis --- Resolve/Elevate all Trim & Chassis issues--- routing issues, missing connections, general ---how to--- for installers Provide Electrical support and troubleshooting of TPV-MULE vehicles in the test fleet (e.g. A certain vehicle electrical feature isn---t working that was supposed to work and is holding up testing) Support electrical device transmittal process: VSEM GDT Set-up, DT approvals, create DT status reports Develop program specific system FMEA and DVP (Validation Plans) Lead compatibility reviews to verify all module and wiring interfaces Development of software configuration files Prototype vehicle software flashing Support NetCom to develop the NetCom message list General electrical system troubleshooting Identify and resolve system related design issues Understand system interfaces to identify possible improvements and trade-offs Required Position Qualifications & Critical Skills: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Experience in Electrical or systems design and/or electrical/functional testing with a solid working knowledge of electrical & software components Experience with certification and homologation, FMVSS and ECE requirements, testing laboratories & pre-test preparation Experience in program management ensuring that components and systems are developed according to official product development systems Ability to work in a diverse environment with mechanics, engineers, technicians, technologists, and suppliers Strong communication skills and proficient in utilizing MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and SharePoint sites Preferred Position Qualifications & Critical Skills: Master of Science in Engineering Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for simulation. Capable of using systems --- currently Advanced Vehicle Bill of Material (AVBOM), ELMS, Corporate Procurement and Receiving System (CPARS), eFDVS/FEDE, Global Prototype Inventory Requisitioning and Scheduling (GIPRS), Global Integrator, SPROUT, Teamcenter, VSEM, JIRA, Worldwide Engineering Release System (WERS) and GPDS program timing Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to cover workload peaks, including flexible weekday hours and weekend work High energy, self-starter with the ability and desire to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal supervision Good collaboration skills, ability to work with multiple people and manage a variety of projects simultaneously with solid organizational skills Ability and courage to effectively communicate key issues and recommendations to management Systems Integration knowledge Reading Electrical Schematics Utilizing CAN Tools for troubleshooting and flashing/configuring software EDS (wiring) Design --- ability to read/understand prints and relationship to schematics and device transmittals Qualified candidates will work well under pressure, demonstrate excellent problem solving and creativity, and be able to quickly evaluate new information and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work independently and with test technicians, skilled trades, and suppliers to resolve issues. Ability to work in a diverse environment with mechanics, engineers, technicians, technologists, and suppliers Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as vehicle CAN network communication bus and vehicle diagnostics Contract to direct hire Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 4:00 PM but must be able to support our flexible test schedule into other shifts and/or weekends Job Requirements:The VEV (Vehicle Evaluation & Verification) Team is seeking an Electrical Systems Test Engineer to join their team.
