The primary focus of this position is to execute tasks and assignments in the area of mechanical equipment delivering solutions and adding value. This position will support the company strategy to reach team goals and priorities.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.Act a role model and be safety conscious and proactive in contributing to a safety culture.Provide a high level of support for safety specifically with safety observations, assessments, and audits.Review major mechanical safety incidents using root cause analysis and serious event reviews.Provide technical expertise in the fields of grinding equipment, filters, kilns, gears and reducers, fans, blowers, compressors, coolers, hydraulics, conveying systems, packing machines, palletizers, preventive techniques, and welding.Clarify plant needs regarding the technical expertise required for complex mechanical needs, issues lined to design, operations, troubleshooting and maintenance, and request additional support from Corporate CIP when needed.Provide first level assistance to plants in eliminating mechanical failures by using systematic and methodical systems to determine root causes.Agree on mechanical audits to be performed in the region with corporate and lead or support as needed to identify weak areas and potential.Identify improvement opportunities to maximize equipment life cycle and efficiency.Support the planning, execution and supervision of complex jobs during major overhauls and provide appropriate information on equipment malfunctions or failures.Collaborate with Project Management and Engineering in new projects and carry out design reviews on new and critical mechanical equipment to ensure maintainability.Advise operations in developing an optimal replacement strategy for the main mechanical equipment and identify and recommend critical spare parts and follow up implementation.Cooperate with the regional purchasing team in optimizing sourcing of mechanical equipment and parts, materials and services.Roll out new preventive maintenance routine and techniques, train others, and monitor progressProvide regional experience back to Corporate to enrich know how and share best practices in mechanical equipment expertiseDemonstrate teamwork, ensuring openness and respect for others, and welcome feedback.Relationships with other jobs:Work with others in the Corporate Industrial Performance teamInteract regularly with Plant Managers and their personnelCollaborate with member from other functions to include Procurement, Project Management & Engineering, Learning & Development, Information technology Services, and Health & SafetyQualificationsWe're looking for:Bachelor or Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline5 to 7 years plant maintenance position in a heavy industry, preferably in Cement operationsExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, CMMS (Maximo and SAP PM)Ability to travel up to 60%Analytical and problem solving skillsPreventive maintenance techniquesPlanning and scheduling experienceBudgeting and cost managementDemonstrated Project Management skillsWhat we offerCompetitive salary based on experience and qualificationsGenerous Paid Time Off & Paid HolidaysDress for your day policyHolistic health & well-being programs for physical, mental/emotional and financial health with access to resources and benefits to help focus on staying well through education and preventionMedical, Dental, Disability and Life Insurance coverageHealth Savings Accounts (HSAs) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent CareVision and other voluntary benefits and discountsRetirement Savings Choose from 401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax savingsPaid Parental Leave (Maternity & Paternity)Educational Assistance ProgramClick to view Company Benefits Overview (of Openings 1Requisition ID 2022-12787Position Type Salaried Full-TimeCategory MaintenanceProduct Line CementJob Locations US-MI-DundeeCompany Holcim USSDL2017
