Job Description:

The building services coordinator supports the ongoing strategic and preventative maintenance strategies within the support services department. This position serves as a key player in coordinating the logistics of goods and materials within the organization for varying needs. Within the broader team, this role is the primary support for work directed to the building services manager and includes soliciting proposals and quotes from contractors and vendors and providing on-site supervision to work being preformed on-site within the facilities. This position requires attentive oversight of our contractors and their work to ensure the work is completed as quoted, and to our specifications. Key Responsibilities: Provides direct assistance to the responsibilities of the building services manager, including facility compliance reporting, building and grounds upgrades, new construction, mechanical systems upkeep, and preventative maintenance. Primary on-site liaison for external contractors while work is being performed on or at facilities or organizational property. Ensures performed work is completed according to specifications as established. Provides follow-up reports on work performed. Help to facilitate organizations production and on-site fulfillment at select expositions, festivals, and public gatherings, either solely or with a team. Organize and arrange for scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on fleet vehicles utilizing fleet management software, communicating with vendors and internal parties about usage interruption. Handles vehicle transport to service as needed. Inventory and maintain security key card assignment requests by utilizing security software system, per the guidance of the building services manager. Serves as a primary point of contact for receivable goods for organization use as guided by the purchasing and procurement team. Validates items received are in acceptable condition and meets order requirements. Provides follow-up on receivables. Contributes and participates in the completion of facility-based construction projects, either solely or with a team. Utilizes organizational work order system to fulfill requests for logistical needs of Michigan Humane. Takes the initiative to track and follow up with team members on the completion of moving materials and goods, internal and external. Occasional evening or weekend work required for special events or emergencies Demonstrated Abilities: Strong organizational, planning, project management, and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Experience with building service operation practices, materials, and aesthetics. Developed relationship management experience with internal and external clients. Able to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to work independently with limited supervision or collaboratively with a team. Able to lift 35 pounds intermittently; some local travel and weekend work required. Acquired Knowledge: Associates degree in an affiliated field of study is required. Bachelors degree preferred. Certificates in trade-based skills (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) preferred. 1-2 years of experience in facility and property maintenance and/or construction. Previous work with skilled trades a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency, Internet and computer software skills are required.
