The role will build, modify, adjust, and calibrate installed devices. The role will also build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics. The Senior Instrumentation Technician mentors and oversees team member's technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. -As a Senior Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Build and install low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring harnesses, auxiliary battery and electrical systems
  • Install, adjust and calibrate sensors, shunts, fiber optics, accelerometers and data acquisition systems
  • Collaborate with customers, fabricators, and mechanics to identify required locations for sensor installation according to Instrumentation Requirement List (IRL)
  • Oversee and perform complete functional inspection and prove-out of instrumentation according to Instrumentation Quality Assurance (IQA)
  • Diagnose faulty low voltage automotive and instrumentation wiring systems and repair. -
  • Work with electronic functional and measurement tools, such as power supplies, function generators, and multimeter -
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
  • Maintain records by entering notes into service repair requests -
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Lead -daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as a Senior Instrumentation Technician, you will need:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 8 years of automotive instrumentation -or equivalent military experience
    • Experience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout and packaging on vehicles or subsystems
    • Able to follow procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects, such as work requests, shop procedures and shop manuals, publications or schematic diagrams
    • Good organizational skills and works well independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
    • Good communication and time management skills
    • Able to work overtime and weekends
    • Good attention to detailPreferred Skills / Qualifications:
      • Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers
      • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
      • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
      • State Mechanic Certification(s) -
