Supply Chain Supervisor Location: Dearborn, MI Shift: Monday -
Friday 8am - 5pm - Hybrid: 2 days onsite and 3 days WFH Position
Summary: Responsible for supervising and leading a team focused on
operational activity including material follow-up, supplier
compliance, and customer escalation. Supervises hourly associates
and is responsible for performance management. Actively involved in
the hiring process as well as customer interactions. Responsible
for reporting out KPI's that drive the business based on customer
requirements. Partners with team of hourly associates to develop
processes that exceed customers day-to-day expectations. Actively
looks for continuous improvement opportunities to streamline the
teams' daily processes and activities. . Major Responsibilities:
People:
- Partner with team to communicate and driver performance
standards.
- Lead team of hourly employees (includes performance review,
corrective action, and goal setting)
- Provide detailed instruction to various personnel via email and
phone.
- Ensure team is fully staffed, play an active role is hiring and
developing talent.
- Monitor attendance.
- Act as first level escalation for customer inquiries.
Operations:
- Assist with new customer process implementations.
- Prioritize time sensitive situations.
- Work with team to provide excellent customer service.
- Drive the team to meet customer's KPI's, and ensure they are
met on a daily and weekly basis.
- Track parts to ensure on time delivery is met.
- Analyze process data and work on continuous improvements.
- Identifying process gaps and streamline inefficiencies.
- Ensuring all business needs are covered including when there
are vacations, illness, etc.
- Other projects as assigned by the manager. QUALIFICATIONS: - 2
- 5 years of experience in the logistics / supply chain industry -
Bachelor's degree strongly preferred - Previous experience in a
supervisory role - Transportation Management System experience
preferred - Must have strong attention to detail and effective
communications skills - Strong customer focus - Must be skilled in
Problem Solving / Process Improvement. - Ability to manage multiple
tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations - Advanced desktop
computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required -
Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer
systems across different platforms - Ability to lead and develop
team of hourly associates - Ability to develop and maintain
professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske
personnel - Team player with flexibility in working different
shifts - Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential
function of the job - Willingness to travel as necessary, work the
required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete
