JOB CODE: (870108) Sales/Sales Rep (Medical Devices) LOCATION: Detroit, MI We are working with a client in their search for an experienced Medical Devices Sales Rep to represent the company as a leader in the industry and the marketplace (reconstructive, trauma, and other key products) by working with a sophisticated audience comprised of surgeons and healthcare professionals. Responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives in the territory by building and maintaining strong business relationships and developing and implementing sales strategies. Increase territory results by building and maintaining strong business relationships, and by developing and implementing sales strategies. Communicate with current and new customer accounts regarding a variety of topics, including product updates, changes to product portfolio, and educational programs. Tasks and Responsibilities: Implement new sales plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively and to meet/exceed territory objectives Identify the needs of new prospects and develop appropriate responses (written, telephone, face-to-face) Perform field calls for the account and assigned territory, including on-call and operating/emergency room consultation Cross-sell additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available Address any problems that arise at the account Support compliance and the principles of responsibility (Company) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information; protecting the assets of the organization; acting with ethics and integrity; reporting non compliance; and adhering to applicable federal, state & local laws and regulations Work with Sales Manager by receiving coaching, training or mentoring; transfer knowledge to peer Sales Representatives and to Sales Associates when needed Maintain training in sales skills, product features/benefits, and other critical business applications Collect competitive data and remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours, as required Maintain accurate surgical scheduling and input in computer software Manage inventory within assigned territory Performance Measures and Accountabilities: 100% Quota attainment is the minimum expectation Other measures to be evaluated by sales manager Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Product Knowledge Implants Hip, Knee, Trauma, UER Instruments Hip, Knee, Trauma, UER Skills Ability to professionally interact with personnel at all levels. Exhibits teamwork ethic Exhibit high level of customer satisfaction Exhibit high level of leadership Be current with interactive sales technologies (e.g. e-mail, etc.) Job Specific Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work with wide variety of individuals Ability to understand all aspects of organizational structure Ability to work independently Follow up skills Ability to multitask Detailed oriented Time management skills Knowledge of hospital protocol Ability of travel up to 50% REQUIREMENTS: 4 year Bachelors Degree 2+ years demonstrated successful sales experience, preferably in the medical device industry Applied knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems Excellent organizational skills Applied understanding of current office technologies (MS Office, databases) Comfortable in emergency/operating room environments Ability to perform physical requirements to function in territory including but not limited to lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down stairs, driving for extended lengths of time.
