Job Description Job Description Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist Group Lead Job Description We are seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist Group Lead to perform all duties of Medical Technologist I and II with full proficiency. The role involves conducting and reporting analytical testing per SOPs while meeting all quality control requirements. The position requires adherence to laboratory policies for specimen handling, testing, reporting, and record maintenance. You will ensure compliance with turnaround time requirements for routine, STAT, and critical results. Responsibilities Perform, review, and document quality control; make assay and test disposition decisions. Evaluate validity check requests and recommend appropriate actions based on specimen and testing limitations. Serve as a technical resource by troubleshooting testing issues and responding to complex inquiries. Support the Lab Supervisor with workflow oversight, staff training, work assignments, and performance input. Improve operational efficiency by identifying workflow enhancements and resolving production issues. Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and functional condition. Complete required training and competency assessments; assist with annual competency documentation. Ensure compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards. Essential Skills Proficiency in laboratory, medical, and chemistry procedures. ASCP Certification (MLS, MT, Chemistry) required. 3-5 years of experience within Automated Chemistry. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Work Environment You will work in a clinical lab environment that is very busy with increasing volume. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with rotating weekends. The shifts are from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM on rotating weekends.
