Job Description Senior IT Auditor (Could be Contract-to-Hire) Location: Detroit, Michigan (Hybrid – on-site at least once per week) Engagement: Contract with strong potential for full-time conversion Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Auditor to join our Enterprise Audit function (third line of defense). This role will focus on performing technology audits from planning to reporting, assessing technology risks, information security controls, and control design across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings a strong IT audit background, preferably from public accounting (Big 4 experience is highly valued), and has since transitioned or is looking to transition into industry. This role offers the opportunity to work with a highly supportive, collaborative audit team in a well-established environment. Key Responsibilities: Execute IT and information security audits as part of the enterprise audit (third line of defense) function Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT and security controls Perform testing related to: Information Security controls SOC reports SOX IT General Controls (ITGCs) Assess risks across IT systems, applications, and infrastructure Review and evaluate control frameworks, policies, and procedures Partner with business and technology stakeholders to communicate audit findings and recommendations Support continuous improvement of audit methodologies and control environments Required Qualifications: 5–6 years of IT Audit experience, with a strong focus on information security Experience performing IT and security control testing, including control design assessment Background in public accounting preferred (Big 4 experience a strong plus, but not required) Strong understanding of: IT audit frameworks Information security controls SOC and SOX environments Required certifications, such as: CISA CISSP Cloud-related certifications (Cloud Auditing Certification) AI or other relevant technology certifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline) Additional Details: Technology domain experience (e.g., healthcare) not required Must reside in Michigan Hybrid work model with at least one on-site day per week (required) Contractor role with strong potential to convert to full-time employment Excellent team culture with strong support and collaboration
